Abigail Markwick

I am a student at the University of Leeds and I have always loved painting. My work is primarily landscapes as I love the endless possibilities a landscape holds. I am extremely interested in abstract expressionist painters and impressionistic work and this comes through in the style of my landscapes. My landscapes are often simple in structure and then I use texture and colour and brush strokes to influence the mood and impression of the piece.  In my work I really enjoy exploring the moods I can create, in seascapes in particular, as the simplicity of a seascape is a great base to convey mood and emotion.
